FORMULASI SEDIAAN GEL EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN PETAI CINA (Leucaena leucocephala (Lamk.) De Wit) SEBAGAI ANTIBAKTERI TERHADAP Staphyococcus aureus

Daun petai cina (Leucaena leucocephala (Lamk.) De Wit) mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid dan tanin yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat formulasi optimal sediaan gel ekstrak etanol daun petai cina sebagai antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Daun petai cina diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 70 %. Sediaan gel diformulasikan dengan konsentrasi ekstrak yang berbeda yaitu formula I 10 %, formula II 15 % dan formula III 30 %. Evaluasi sediaan gel yang dilakukan meliputi pemeriksaan organoleptik, pengukuran pH, uji homogenitas, uji daya sebar dan uji daya lekat. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi sumuran. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa formula I memiliki diameter zona hambat 4,6 ± 1,41 mm, formula II  8,57 ± 2,21 mm dan formula III 10,38 ± 3,05 mm. Hasil evaluasi gel menunjukkan formula III sediaan gel ekstrak etanol daun petai memenuhi kriteria syarat sediaan gel.Downloads
