Manuscript Types

HEXAGRO publishes three types of manuscripts within its Focus and Scope. All manuscripts are written in English, prepared with the journal's article template, and evaluated through the same double-blind peer-review process. The journal does not set a fixed word or page limit; manuscripts should be as concise as their content allows.

1. Original Research Article

Reports original empirical research that has not been published elsewhere. It follows the structure set out in the Author Guidelines: Title, Abstract and Keywords, Introduction, Research Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (optional), and References. The Introduction must state the research gap and novelty.

2. Review Article

Critically synthesises published research on a topic within the journal's scope to identify trends, gaps, and directions for future research. A review should describe how the literature was searched and selected (databases, keywords, period covered, and inclusion criteria) and should offer the authors' own analysis rather than only summarising previous studies. Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and comparative policy reviews are welcome.

3. Scientific Communication

A shorter paper that reports new findings of immediate interest, preliminary results, a new method or technique, or a case study with clear relevance for practice or policy. It follows a condensed version of the research article structure, with a focused set of references.

All manuscript types must meet the journal's Publication Ethics, Authorship Criteria, and Plagiarism Policy.
